• Join In Friendship, our monthly "Giving Circle."
In 1956, a month after the Montgomery bus boycott began, Ella Baker began In Friendship, a fundraising campaign to provide direct aid to the South's growing civil rights struggle. Members were asked to pledge $10 each week "for the duration of the emergency." In that spirit we're launching In Friendship. Regular, recurring donations are the lifeblood of Ella Baker Center: your monthly Electronic Fund Transfer keeps us going.
